Admission's Information
The Department of Education currently give each school an enrolment number and an admission's number that are not to be: exceeded unless there are special local circumstances. These numbers are kept under review by the Department of Education and may change as a result of an appeal by the school. Our enrolment number for the school year is 412 and our admission number has been set at 59. Below is a table showing the numbers of pupils applying to the school.

Largymore Primary School seeks to provide an environment in which pupils, staff and parents are committed to the idea of developing children to their full potential within a oaring, supportive community.

Largymore Primary seeks to provide pupils with a happy and secure environment in which life is enjoyable and where :
skills and interests are developed, 
knowledge is valued and acquired, 
independence is fostered and high moral and spiritual standards are encouraged so that pupils have respect for others and become responsible members of their community.

 

Road Safety
Responsibility for the safety of pupils going to and coming from school rests with the parent. Children should always enter and exit the playground using the pedestrian gate.
Where applicable the children must cross with the patrol lady at all times. Please set the right example by using the crossing yourself when visiting the school.

VISITING THE SCHOOL
It is the aim of Largymore Primary School to involve parents in the education of their children and to inform them as fully as possible about their children's progress.
The arrangements far consultation are :
Before Enrolment.
a) Entrants to Year 1
After a pupil has been accepted into Year 1 both the parents and child will be invited into school to meet with the Year 1 teachers and discuss arrangements for beginning school the following September. This meeting will be arranged for late in the third term.

b) Entrants who have previously attended another school
(i) An interview maybe arranged with the principal.
(ii)  Parents will be welcome to view the premises.
(iii)  A meeting may be arranged with prospective teacher(s) of the child or children.
After Enrolment,
a)  Parent consultation afternoons are held during the school year when parents are invited to come to school on an appointment basis to meet the child's teacher and discuss progress. These will occur in October and March.
b)  Parents will be invited to come to school to take part in activities such as concerts, carol services and PTA functions. 
c)  Parents of children who will be transferring to Secondary Education will be invited to an interview to provide advice arid guidance on the completion of the Transfer Report Form.
d)  PI Parents will be invited to attend a Reading Seminar early in the first term. This is designed to give help and guidance with early reading.


Parents Request

Parents are welcome to school to discuss their children's progress or work at any time, If however parents wish to speak at length to a teacher other than for a brief word this can be easily done by contacting the Principal or teacher arranging a mutually convenient time.
