Up Introduction Current Status Inside School Families Teaching Methods

 

Girls start school at the age of 13. The age varies as they have to pass standard 8 and be selected for Secondary School. There are some girls who start at 15/16 and others who will be in their mid twenties by Form 4. There are not enough Secondary Schools to accommodate the numbers of children leaving primary school and this has put a lot of pressure on the secondary schools.
School fees have increased considerably this year and many families

With HIV/AIDS increasing and the number of orphans increasing families are large -- the extended family will look after those orphaned.

The importance of educating Girls is an increasing concern yet where families are struggling it will be the boys who are sent to school and the girls must stay at home.
