 NPI’ focus on establishment of a peace resource centre hinges on the available need to provide materials for both researchers and research users. This is in line with The National Library of Uganda Act 2003, which provides for the depositing and preservation of publications for an information referral service. The resource centre is intended to be a reference and research facility providing credible updated information with a special focus on building a culture of peace, conflict resolution and general development issues.

In the peace centre will be found collections of reports (published and unpublished), Books, workshop and seminar papers, journals, periodical, electronic databases on a culture of peace, CD ROMs and audio visual will also be availed for reference.

The categories of study materials are intended to include:

Peace and Conflict Resolution

Gender

Governance, Human Rights and Democracy

Child and Youth Development

Education, Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation

International Development

Rural/Community Development.

Economic and Social Development among others.

The resource Centre shall be open to the public.

NPI invites partners, both local and International to contribute resources towards the success of this noble cause.
