NPI has
designed a comprehensive work plan to achieve its objectives under the
following focal areas.
a.
Peace Education programme in which we plan to:

Assess,
design and implement community based programmes through peer-peace
teaching, peace voice of the young and school outreach peace programmes.
·
Involvement
of the media, development and exchange of resources like drawings,
artifacts, stories and folklore etc
b.
Networking
and Advocacy.
·
To
carry out stakeholder workshops and lobby government on matters of
curriculum design and change to include peace matters.
·
Lobby
national and international partners to mainstream peace building
activities
c.
Research
To
continuously carry out strategic policy oriented research into mechanisms
that enhance peace
d.
Establishment
of a Peace Resource Centre In Kampala. This will be for use by other
researchers and research users e.g programme evaluators, community
Development workers, activists, monitors of abuse and students etc, as
there isn’t any of the kind in the country.
NPI
intends to fully employ a community involvement approach in pursuit of its
objectives through participatory community support, use of interactive and
cooperative methods.
