Distribution of orphans in Kenya by age shows that out of the 900,000 orphans, 16% are between 0-4 years, 33% are between 5-9 years and 51% are between 10-14 years.

On average 700 persons die daily due to HIV/AIDS leaving behind poor children as orphans without adequate adult protection or supervision.  The number of children who have lost both parents to HIV/AIDS is on the increase.  This problem leads to sexual exploitation of these children, drug abuse and child labour among other social problems.

This project was founded in 1996 to help alleviate these problem by providing needed protection and care and also offer improved quality education through improved curriculum, provision of trained teachers and also by providing training/teaching resources and physical facilities at the Centre and School.

Currently we cater for a population of 180 needy and orphaned children annually but the main constraints are adequate physical facilities, staff and financing.  The problems are compounded by an ever-increasing population of such needy children.

The project is currently run on voluntary resources and these are indeed limited. So any contribution from voluntary donor agencies is highly welcomed and will go along way to help ease the financial burden.

The project situation financially is deteriorating.  We have not been able to attract new supporters to fill the gap with the result these result is starting to exceed income and the director having to break into his family savings.

We urgently need sponsorship as the best way of fund raising because people like to know exactly what their money is doing.  We can provide child photograph and child case history and to invite sponsor to call at the centre and actually meet the child.  We welcome firms for general donation like building materials for hostel project and classrooms.  Some of our project members are famous Kenyan veteran journalists who will offer print and electronic publicity for all handing over of cheque.
